Dal -- red split lentil soup
Serves about 4 in about 30 minutes
1lb lentils
½ jar Mogul Masala Curry
whole cumin (optional)
fresh green pepper (optional)
whole mustard seeds (optional)
1 fresh tomato cubed (optional)
scallions/green onions for garnish
Boil lentils
in salted water until tender and puffy. In a saucepan, warm a tablespoon
of oil and add whole cumin, mustard seeds and whole pepper seeded
- be careful, mustard seeds will pop. Add curry for another minute
or two. Add lentils and stir until curry has coated all the lentils.
You may need to add water to make the soup as soupy as you like.
Add salt if necessary. Add tomatoes if you like. Turn off heat.
Garnish and serve.
